Research interests
:
• Fabrication and synthesis of novel materials of technological
interest and enhanced properties. Tailoring the structural, optical and magnetic properties of materials through the influence of composition and growth conditions.
• Study of magnetic and quantum frustration in strongly correlated systems with unconventional ground state
• Study of light – matter interactions in low dimensions and in the quantum confinement regime
• understanding of the physics of fermionic and non fermionic solid state materials
• Soft x-ray and neutron scattering studies of solids in low dimensions.
• Enhancement of spectroscopic characterization using coherent x-ray and laser sources for the study of magnetic interactions.
• study of dynamic of magnetization and ultra–fast switching in magnetic multilayers and nanostructures.
Research experiences:
6 years experience with materials synthesis using Spray Pyrolysis deposition, Spin-Coating, Dip-Coating, CVD, chemical methods like Sol-Gel and hydrothermal synthesis and physical methods such as PVD and rf-magnetron sputtering.
• Extensive experience with x-ray material characterization: x-ray reflectivity from films and multilayers, x-ray diffraction from amorphous, poly- and single-crystalline materials, Grazing Incidence angle x-ray diffraction.
• Strong background in magnetism and related phenomena, Magnetic characterization of materials using the Magneto-optic Kerr effect (MOKE) set up and a Superconducting Quantum Interference Device (SQUID), Lab responsible for the low-temperature MOKE system “Magneto” in the Material Physics group in Uppsala University; In charge of the system maintenance and upgrade (2010).
• Background in optical properties and use of FTIR, UV/Vis/NIR and Photo Luminescence (PL) for optical characterization of materials.
• Experience with beam times at international research sites: the synchrotron facility BESSY in Berlin, Germany (X-ray Magnetic Circular Dichroism (XMCD) measurements) and the neutron source at the ILL institute in Grenoble (Polarized Neutron Reflectivity measurements)
• Morphological characterization using Atomic Force Microscopy and
Magnetic Force Microscopy.
• Other skills such as: sound knowledge of vacuum practice, handling of turbo molecular and backing pumps, use of cryostats and cooling liquids, lasers, furnaces. Basic workshop skills for repairs, experimental setup maintenance and
modifying setup parts.
Teaching experience:
• 4-years part-time teaching experience in Ferdowsi University of Mashhad and Rafsanjan University, Iran. Courses in solid state physics, electromagnetism, fundamentals of lasers and applications, vacuum technology and spectroscopic techniques.

• Writing codes using MATLAB, Origin, FORTRAN, C
• Expert knowledge of Windows and Linux operation, installation, and
troubleshooting
